Kissimmee Tree Removal on Flat, Wet Ground
Most of Osceola County is pine flatwoods: level land, sandy soil and a water table that sits close to the surface for much of the summer. Trees here never need to root deep to find water, so they spread their roots sideways in a shallow plate. That works until a tropical system parks over the county and the ground turns to mush. Then a healthy-looking oak or pine can simply lever itself out of the soil and fall over, roots and all.
We saw that pattern across the county after Hurricane Ian in 2022, when days of rain filled Shingle Creek, the lakes and the retention ponds that sit behind so many Kissimmee subdivisions. The trees that failed weren't always the sick ones — they were often the ones standing in the wettest ground.
The jobs we're called for most
- Water and laurel oaks over roofs, lanais and pool screens — fast growers that get brittle and hollow with age. Usually a removal; sometimes a thorough trim is enough for now.
- Overgrown palms at rental homes around US-192, Four Corners and ChampionsGate — see palm tree trimming and our vacation rental tree service.
- Leaning or uprooted trees after big rain events — storm damage cleanup, with photos for your insurance company.
- Pre-season risk checks in May and early June — hurricane tree prep before the first named storm shows up on the map.
Tree rules change depending on where your property sits. The City of Kissimmee, the City of St. Cloud, unincorporated Osceola County and Orange County each have their own process, and communities like Celebration, Harmony and Reunion add HOA approvals on top. We sort out which rules apply to your address during the estimate. Our Kissimmee tree permit guide has the basics, including the 2019 state law for trees that are a documented danger to your home.

Before and after
Kissimmee Tree Removal, Start to Finish
Slide the handle. A dying oak over the house doesn't get cheaper to take down — and it gets far more expensive once the next storm does it for you.
What we look at before quoting
Four things decide how a Kissimmee tree job goes. We check all of them on the estimate, so there are no surprises on work day.
- 01Soil and waterSoaked ground and a high water table mean a shallow root plate. A tree that's already shifting gets moved up the schedule.
- 02DecayWe sound the trunk and look for conks and cracks. Hollow wood changes how a tree can be climbed and rigged.
- 03Targets belowScreen rooms, pool decks, lanai roofs, fences and overhead lines decide between climbing, a bucket truck or a crane.
- 04ApprovalsCity, county, Orange County and HOA rules, plus the state exemption for trees that endanger a home.

We visit, check the tree and the ground around it, confirm whose rules apply, and send a fixed written price. Not home? We send photos with the quote.

Protect the property
Mats over pavers and grass, ropes rigged before the first cut over a screen room, pool or fence. Rental guests get a heads-up if you want one.

Do the work
Climbing, bucket truck or crane — whatever the tree and the space call for. Decayed wood gets handled with extra care.
Most single trees: one day
Clean it up
Chipped, loaded and hauled. Yard raked, hardscape blown off. Owners who are away get after photos.

FAQ
Kissimmee Tree Service Questions
Most removals around Kissimmee fall between $350 and $900 for a small tree, $900 to $1,900 for a medium one, and $1,900 to $3,800 or more for a big oak or pine. Price climbs when the tree hangs over a screen room or roof, when the trunk is hollow, when there is no truck access to the back yard, or when a crane is the only safe option. You get a fixed written number after we see it.
The ground is flat and the water table is high, so trees grow wide, shallow root plates instead of deep anchors. When heavy rain saturates the soil, as it did during Hurricane Ian in 2022, the soil loses its grip and even healthy trees can tip over. Trees near ponds, ditches and low spots are the most exposed.
It depends on where the property is. The City of Kissimmee, the City of St. Cloud, unincorporated Osceola County and Orange County each run their own process, and HOA communities such as Celebration and Harmony have separate approvals. Florida law also exempts homeowners from local permits for trees an ISA certified arborist or licensed landscape architect documents as a danger. We check all of this during the estimate.
Yes. We work with owners and management companies all the time. We can get in by lockbox or gate code, schedule between guest stays, and send you photos before and after the work, so you never have to fly in for a tree job.
Usually once or twice a year, timed so dead fronds and fruit stalks come off before they drop onto the pool deck. Only brown fronds and seed stalks should go. Cutting green fronds to make palms look tidy weakens them and can leave them short on nutrients.
Have dead, hollow or leaning trees looked at in spring, and get heavy limbs pruned off roofs and lanais before June 1. Good pruning thins weight evenly instead of stripping the inside of the canopy. Once a storm is a few days out, it is too late for tree work: crews are booked and debris piles would become hazards.
Yes. We use a compact grinder that fits through gates and works close to hardscape, and we protect pavers and screen frames while we work. Roots that run under a slab can only be cut back so far without risking the tree next to it or the deck itself, and we will explain the limits on site.
Yes. Every removal includes chipping the brush, loading the wood and hauling it away. If you would like the chips left for mulch or some logs left for firewood, just tell us. Stump grinding is quoted as its own line so you can decide whether you want it.
